Ha! Hump Day!!

Its Hump day fun day and I'm linking up with my favorite Hump Day Blog Hop! and #Workout Wednesday.

When we left off I was all excited about my 5 fitness spots and the coming weekend.

Weekend recap. (Confession)
Friday -Monday
1. No exercise
2. Barely left the bed
3. oh except to refill my glass with vodka or tequila drinks
4. I ate 3 squares and the drinks were my my snacks
5. I drank plenty of water. plenty

However, Saturday I went to and arts festival and walked around to 2 hours...It was casual and there was no grazing. I hate festival food. Its expensive.

I 'm pretty sure I'm going to pay for it next week . No doubt.

Monday I had some Peach Cobbler w/ Blue Bell ice cream.  I'm a Southern gal and I had to have it.  I didn't over do it, but the fact that I did it.  I'm not mad.   *shrug*

Tuesday Last night, I hit the trails and the weights.
I warmed up pretty good, or so I thought. SHIN PAIN!!!!! aka Payback
It hurt for a little bit, but I slowed my ass right on down, did the movements I do to decrease the pain, for about a mile and kept on going.

It was a great walk.  I like passing the slow pokes.
I also like the fact that my head COMPLETELY empties while I'm out there.

I got off work and laid in my bed.  I laid there chatted with my kids and thought about how good sleep would feel.
I was under the cover and it was feeling sooooooooooo good. I thought "I will exercise tomorrow."
I then immediately got my fat full-figured ass up, put own my gear and told the kiddies "I'M HEADING TO THE TRAIL!"
I did not want to or even feel like it, for that matter.  Which means I knew I needed to go. I knew that if I didn't go then I wouldn't go today or tomorrow and it would be excuse after excuse after excuse and, well I can't have that. I gots goals!

It was a great walk, like always.  My mood improved and I burned a ton of calories!

After I got home, I did my Daily Routine for Tuesday which was  Lower Body and Abs
I 1/2 the Ab stuff...I did 3 -30 second planks and 45 Russian twists. Good stuff.

Happy Hump day fitness gurus people!!

I can't wait to hit the trail today!

Its Dark Chocolate and Almonds together in a bar a sin?

This Girl Friday Five...

YO!!! It's FRIDAY!!!! What's extra awesome about this Friday is that it's a LOOOOOOONG weekend!!!

I was reading a post on Femme Fitale Fit and she asked, “What are the 5 places you’d like to workout/run?” She had a great list.

What an awesome thought!!   5 places that I would love to workout/run/ exercise….hmmm
I have had a really good week and I am in a great frame of mind to come up with a list of places.

Five Places

1. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  One of my favorite bloggers wrote about a weekend she spent with her bff doing a Rocky Balboa style workout around D.C.  I want the Rock Balboa workout in Philly at the “Rocky Steps”. 72 stone step that lead into the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  With the “Gonna Fly Now” playing on repeat.  I’m in training for that…lol and while I’m there hit up a bootcamp with the City Fit Girls!

     2. Disney World, Orlando Fl.  I walked International Blvd near Disney last year, but I want to run the Disney Boardwalk and do  one of their fun half marathons before I dies…lol  I want to dress as a fairy princess and sprinkle my sweat on everyone!!

 3. Runyon Canyon, Los Angeles , Ca.  I have seen this in many movies and TV shows and I wanna go!!!   Definitely on my list of 45 before 45 I want to walk the hell out of this trail, see the spectacular views and maybe see Queen Latifah… HA!

   4.  Boot Camp at Central Park in New York.  I think it’s a beautiful park, feature so many times in Law & Order SVU as the dumping spot…lol…sorry.  There is strength in numbers!!! I also want to walk the trail that goes in and around it…I also want to walk the pedestrian path across the Brooklyn Bridge and see the love locks.

     5. Puerto Rico anything. I will do Zumba, run, walk, swim, climb a mountain I don’t care, I will do it! To be able to break a sweat in such a beautiful place.  I have never been to anywhere that requires a passport so this is definitely a fantasy trip!!!

Writing all this has actually given me something to look forward to… I want to do all these things!!! When I think about it they are very possible with planning and saving.

This was fun and giving me  some major goals to think about and break down.
Have a wonderful long weekend! Happy Friday!

Thank You Hump Day!

"What motivates you?"...
that's the question from the motivational Monday team link up.  I'm definitely not motivated on Monday...to do much of nothing. The link up lasts 4 days ...so I'm writing about it today.

What motivates me?
In relation to what? Life? Fitness?
 In LIFE.
My kiddies.  I only wake up in the morning because of them.  I only breathe for my kiddies.  When I was a teenager, I was a cutter and I was suicidal.  I hated life. When I entered my 20's  I other poor choices to numb the numbness.
When I became a mother ...well motherhood changed me.
I didn't want to disappoint or let them down
So that little girl and that little boy motivate me to live. Wake up, go to work, breathe,  buy $150 shoes...HA! Because of them. They suck ass but mommy loves them...They are my asses and I would have shot myself in the head a long time ago if I wasn't blessed with them.

blah...girly emotional mommy crap

In Fitness.
Mini-skirts, short shorts, going to Puerto Rico and walking around naked and look good naked.
and even though these are not on the top of the list they are just as important....better health, to live a longer.

but its just something about being able to shop in the misses dept.  To have more variety in black...lol

I have NEVER been skinny.  High school skinny for me was a size 14/16 and I was in high school when the only plus sized clothes were for old fat ladies...Golden Girls...elastic waist pants pastels and flower shirts.  ugh.

I just want to know that I can do it and see what I look like smaller.

It's Wednesday  and I love linking up with Liz @ Fitness Blondie , Hump Day Blog Hop! and Diatta @ Femme Fitale Fit Club, Workout Wednesday Linkup!

Lets go over my exercise routine that I have done this week.

Sunday : Cardio: Fail Strength: Fail
Monday: Cardio: 6.08 miles Arms: Fail
Tuesday: Cardio: 4.55 miles Legs: Fail (unless you count the walk/jog)
Today has not happened yet...sooooo

and I have yet to begin my AM exercise.  I know for certain I will begin that next week because
SCHOOL IS OUT!!!

What I am enjoying about my walking this month is that I am incorporating jogging.
Particularly, over the last 2 weeks.
So far this week I have been  jogging longer distances.  I have certain markers that I run to and from, but I have been pushing myself to go further...VERY VERY NICE!!!

I also meal prepped on Sunday.  It was the hardest and longest prep, even longer than the first time I did it...lol
However, I am happy with the results.
Egg Muffins

For Breakfast I made Egg Muffins...I LOVE these things...
Egg Beaters
Bag of Spinach
Sliced Baby Bellas
Onion
Parmesan Cheese
Reduced Fat Cheddar

For Lunch/Dinner I hooked up some Turkey Sweet Potato Muffins...They are great and don't be put off by the  sweet potato  you don't even taste it.  The muffins are very moist and flavorful...OMG they are so good.

Turkey Sweet Potato Muffins
1 pack lean Ground Turkey
1 small sweet potato cooked them mashed
Onions/bell pepper
Parmesan cheese
Spinach (a bag)
I have them with broccoli on the side.

There are enough for dinner.  AWESOME SAUCE!!

My Daily routine is really working out well. Yeah!

Ok so in other news:
Grey's Anatomy. It's my favorite show. She is my favorite character.
I knew last year that she was leaving.
I watched the season finale on Sunday.
I didn't expect the kind of melt down  that I had.
I cried hard. I cried loud.

It's the end of an era.  It would be like if one of the characters from Friends had left. Mid show.

ugh...Meredith is going to need her person when the shit hits the fan next season.

Any who
Farewell Christina

Pop That, Pop That Friday...

It has really been an amazing week. Yes, really.
Last week I posted about how I needed to come up with a fitness routine that could withstand weather and emotions. (laughing at myself for being emotional, I’m a thug) Sunday evening I laid in my bed with a cute little notebook and really great writing gel pen and brainstormed.

Brainstorming steps
1.      Tap the notebook with the pen while humming the Game of Thrones intro music.
2.      Roll on my back and do leg lifts. (oh the burn)
3.       Look for some cute colored Post It flags, so it will be easier to turn the page. (no luck)
4.      Scroll through my Instagram feed, liking and commenting
5.      Pinterest EUREKA!!

I am not a Pinterest fanatic…for me it’s an “interesting” way to pass the time when I’m in the ladies room. It’s my go-to when I need some, Search: fitness motivation quotes.
I knew kinda already what I wanted my routine to consist of  and kinda how I wanted it to look.  It was  all a matter of seeing what was or would be most effective and putting it all down on paper.  My search was daily fitness exercise routines.  Tabata this, HIIT that…mmhhm cute, but I want something I can stick to not be scared of…lol. I like HIIT workouts though.  I used to do a session in the mornings until the Holidays hit….boooooo.
Moving forward
After scrolling through and reading lots upon lots of Pins I had many, many ideas. And quite a bit of inspiration.
Once I was done brainstorming, I began to write.
I did one for everyday of the week.
Each daily routine has 2 options
AM  and PM…duh
Cardio and Strength
Strength is what it is.  The only option there is to change around the order in which the moves get done. Side Note: Building and toning muscle is very important when murdering fat. Muscle burns more calories even when you’re standing still AND if you don’t do any strength, you risk losing muscle (FOREVER) along with the fat.
Ok so…
Cardio has 2-4 options in the AM and the PM.
A.M. is always going to be an at home routine.  (No way am I leaving the house before sunrise Monday thru Friday…tuh) Leslie Sansone or SWEAT.
Leslie is THE Walk at Home queen. She walks and walks and walks and walks and I love it.  She gets my heart rate up and I always wake up sore. I have a pretty good library of her DVD’s (thinking DVD SWAP…hmmm) old, old and new.  She is usually my go-to in the Winter months.

SWEAT is a Zumba like routine with lots of twerkin’. Twerking is a form of cardio.  It also works the legs, glutes and abs, when done right….lol SWEAT is the creation of Dawn Archer…she is an Instagram sensation…she lost a ton of weight and spreads the love across the country teaching SWEAT an taking folks to the grocery store…lol. She really is a “started from the bottom now we here” kinda gal.  She is really sweet, from what I can tell.

P.M. includes several cardio routines but first is my Trail Walk  and a serious strength routine.
There is one for every day. They are appointments that I have made with myself.  Not scary, but definitely work. And yes not really any days off.  I’m a walker and walking everyday is nothing.  A mile is powerful!

The weekends are the hardest for me.  I had to come up with options to ensure that I do work on the weekend.
Option 1 is my trail walk that I would normally do but if I was out the night before or not at home it would be difficult
Option 2 is the get up move and DO SOMETHING option. It kinda looks like a HIIT J.  After a few rounds of it I should be good and sweaty. Maybe even have a nice calorie burn
Option 3 is treadmill time…ugh  I HATE the treadmill. BUT I will do it it I have to maybe even in addition to.

I’m pretty stoked about the routine I have come up with.  This week I have followed it to a tee.  I’m sore, I’m tired and I’m wishing I’d taken my measurements…HA!  Looking forward to telling you all how my weekend goes good and bad.
Last nights exercise...SwagSwap shirt!! Thanks Kassie Boo!

What are your thoughts about my plan? Anything I should add?

5 Lil Friday Items...

This lil Friday is going to be about the lil fitness things I  really want, but they’re not in my lil budget.  So basically this is a “wish/dream/fantasy list. Yup!
If you can't dream, what can you do? HA!

Up first!

Under Amour compression pants.  No reason other than my son has been telling me about the brand and then my #SwagSwap partner sent me a lovely Under Armor headband.  I’m curious!

They have MEMORY FOAM!!! Do you even understand how fricking awesomely comfortable that would be!!  To have a shoe that conforms to all the bumps and  the littleness of my toes!!  A dream!

These socks are adorbs.  I also want a pink pair and a white pair...I will become whatever they say…lol

I exercise at home and my at home “gym” would love this right here.  I believe my squats would be awesome and my deadlifts would feel well …like work.
A Meal Prep cook.  I mean come on…. I know it takes time and practice to get THIS ß good…I need a cook/delivery service.  I’m in Atlanta…any referrals?

Soooooo, I'm taking donations via PayPal...lol

I'm so glad that it's lil Friday because that means Friday cometh, sooner rather than later.
I have been working hard this week especially at work...humph...

Dropping in on the Little Friday Link Up.
