Hello....Spring?

Happy March it's been a while and I'm not going to bore you with all the reasons why I haven't been posting.
I suck, yes I know.
I've had a busy February.  I started several posts but could never finish one because things have just been busy.
Things going on with my kids, family, my job...blah, blah, blah.
I'm here today and well, really that's all that matters...lol and I thank you for being patient!

Weather in Atlanta has sucked so bad and I am so happy to report that this week we have had warmer temperatures AND that Spring is coming.
However, Friday morning it was snowing and temperatures were at freezing, but so what Spring is coming!!
I'm chirping and eventually the birds will be chirping to...Boom!

Fitbit... I am now a part of the Fitbit community.
I got a Fitbit for Christmas, but didn't open it up and log in til January 14th.
Can I just say I love this bit!! I love it!!! Walking ain’t walking without my Fitbit! LOL!!
It makes me do so much more. It just keeps me from being lazy!
I love the challenges and I have even met a few people in the community to do challenges with.
I work a sedentary job. I have to find reasons to have to get up from my desk. Fitbit is the reason! I walk around the office multiple times a day. I march in place at the coffee machine, at the copier and at my terminal. I aslo walk many laps around the warehouse.  I'm determined to get in 8,000 steps before I leave work every day.
I'm going to post a few pictures of my stats from the last couple weeks...

About February... I would just like to say that I have not gained any weight. I have maintained the weight that I've been at for the past 5 or 6 months which is still pretty crappy but I'm happy to say that I haven't gotten any fatter....HA!
I've been working out everyday but I have been working out everyday.
This Fitbit really has me pushing myself hard. I love it!
One of my goals this month of March is to force myself out of my comfort zone do something different!
First with this Black Weight Loss Success Challenge, on top of MY regular fitness routine - walking, is some added Calisthenics everyday.

These things are going to get your calories burning and your heart rate up there! I like it, like it a lot. Right now my butt sore my stomach hurts
I'm really so forward to Spring coming and getting back to the freaking trails!! I can't wait until this cold breaks so I can get back to my true love and be out with/in Mother Nature and get my mileage on!! I love winter, bundling up and cuddling and snuggling but sheesh!!! I miss the trails and I can't wait!

Wednesday night my daughter and I had the most amazing time at this great workout session!
I don't know if any of you know or have heard of about Dawn Archer a great fitness/weight loss story I'll share the story here

Last year her goal was to she her story and her Sweat workouts in every state. That was a success!! before that she used to live here in Atlanta, so she tries to come back here to hold a class and I always miss them!...boooooo
I missed it last year when she was here as part of her tour and I missed it earlier this year when she came back!!
I was determined that I was going to make it this time so I saved my little coins, blocked out the time!
I brought my daughter  with me, needless to say... she wasn't happy about it * shrug * but I wanted to spend some quality time with her I want her to know that exercise can be fun (she was pissed) Let me tell you my daughter, as soon as the first song started AND it was one of her favorites!!!! her smile was so big and bright that i didn't recognize her...lol
She had such a good time and she worked her butt off and it was sweaty it was hot but it was wonderful and for 2 days I was sore: my hamstrings hurt, my eyes were burning, my core temperature has to be a 120 degrees...lol It was a great workout so if you've heard of her or haven't heard her go to her website she has downloads of her workouts. i have three of them and they are really a good burn!
If you need a little inspiration and/or some motivation PLEASE check her out!

Like the Air I breathe...

Today I'm plagiarizing...lol

 * shrug *

In order for me to stay motivated and get going I first need a bit of Inspiration.
Mr Hamilton @ Get In Shape  Athletics sends a wonder email 2, 3 sometimes 4 times a week.
The email I got today was the boost I needed to keep my mind right and my mental together.

"Step One: Get Focused.
The holidays happened. You ate things from your “never eat these” list, you drank more that you should have, but now it’s over.

Draw a line in the sand. The bad eating stops now.

Don’t beat yourself up for falling off the fitness wagon this once. Simply get back up, dust yourself off and get re-focused. Leave the past, and your slip-ups, in the past.

Step Two: Get Hydrated.
While bad eating can take on many forms, the end result is most often dehydration and water retention. The only way to restore balance is to get hydrated.

Your first priority in getting back on track is to drink plenty of water throughout your day. Start with a tall glass of water in the morning, and carry a water bottle with you.

Don’t add artificial sweeteners or stimulants to your water – these will work against your hydration efforts. To add flavor, slice fresh fruit, herbs or vegetables to place in your water, just like at the spa.

Step Three: Get Picky.
For the next few days I need you to be extra picky about what you eat. Stick with only whole, real foods like fruits, vegetables and some lean meat. Whole, real foods will quickly help to restore balance.

Don’t eat packaged foods for the next few days. This means saying no to snack foods, processed meat slices, dairy, baked goods and alcohol

Step Four: Get Moving.
So you've put an end to the eating madness, you've hydrated and you've eaten only whole foods …it’s now time to sweat it out.

Lace up your athletic shoes and put on your favorite gym clothes. When you start your workout, ease in slowly. Take the time to warm up and stretch your muscles before powering up to a solid 30-minute exercise routine. "

Who doesn't like this kind of motivation to get back on the good foot and move forward.
I'm a believer in consistency and the past 7 or 8 months i have been horrible at it.  That ends.  I have spent many moments thinking about where I could be now with/in my journey and beating myself up about it...that ends. * shrug * I'm human, I get sidetracked and distracted.  I'm imperfect.
I'm not going to continue to dwell on things that I can't change. That is time gone.
I am focusing on today, tomorrow and beyond.
Being consistent
Staying focused on my 2015 goals &
Mental discipline

YAAAAY!!!

Year at a Glance...

Alright, it has taken me a couple weeks to get this short list together.
Finally I’m ready and have carved a moment in time, to get this post, be it brief, together.
There is nothing more awesome for a goal digging whorebag (lol) than to have to decide on the goals for the year!
I decided on 10 Goals but I’m only sharing my Top 5

1.  Regular fitness routine
This is very important for me and to me.  I want to have a routine in place so strong that if I even think I’m not gonna ,that feel guilty, have created the habit and proceed to get it done .  I’m at a point where I can tell when I miss a few days, but I don’t want to miss a few days I want the habit.

2.  Ask for a raise
Self explanatory.  However, they don’t give anything no matter how well you perform and help insurance increased.  It has to balance to make sense and well, It Don't.  I will have to suck it up and find a way to “beg” my young ass boss for a raise. Any tips or ideas on how I should approach this?

3.  Get Passport
Not going anywhere. Just want one. 2nd form of ID…lol

4.  Move
The economy started dropping in the beginning of 2009, sad, but true.  I lost my job, my roommate (ex), and my home in 5 months.  It took me 3 years to find a job that would hire me.  I collected unemployment, went to community college and worked temp jobs.  I moved back in with my mom (best mother EVER) and thank GOD my car was paid for. I have been afraid to leave the comfort and security of mom’s bosom.  2015 I’m moving.  My room is full of crates and tubs of my life before the 2nd great depression.  I want to open my boxes and enjoy my things again.

5.  Do a FlexitPink Virtual Run
Love their cause. Love their story.   Love the shirt and the medal….lol.  This will also give me an opportunity to explore more of my city and find a spot that is visually wonderful to do it in and a push to start running…even though it can be walked, ran, rolled or crawled.

My year goals may seem basic, but they’re not.  It all about the lifestyle.  Its all about doing things that are outside my normal business hours and doing things out my box. That will hopefully lead me to even greater places!

It’s also about, weekly and monthly, being able to write the small goals, ( I love goals) that will lead me to accomplishing my 2015 goals.

Not Everest, but...

I don't fall into The New Year New You b.s.. I prefer to start my goals a few weeks into the New Year. I call it New Year Better Me. There can't be A new me because well I'm still me not a robot. I'm just going to spend the new year improving on the goals  I have made in the past and completing the one I set for 2015.

I spent the weekend with #Smitten. We knew we wanted to climb a mountain but which one, Stone Mtn or Kennesaw Mtn.? We chose the easy drive. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park....whew long ass name. It's where Sherman came down on Atlanta during the Civil War. Lots of Southern heritage there. Got there and started wondering about all the bodies buried around that place...hmm
The last time I climbed this mountain I was 19 years old; totally different endurance energy and strength.

Beautiful scenery; Open fields, woods, cannons... Wait...it was cold as ice...my goodness mighty cold, but I didn't care, we didn't care. After the walk from the parking lot to the visitor’s center I had to pee...did that. Thus the climb begins.

It was not like Stone Mountain...short flat path, then I felt like Frodo and Sam in Return of the King climbing up, up, up and up up up. Heart rate was up up up. And just when we thought we were gonna die the Heavens revealed a bench!

After a few moments of deep breathing the climb was resumed. Stepping up and over rocks, so glad that I wore extra socks feel quite proud that after a half mile of climbing the stairway to heaven that I didn't give up say tuck it and turn around. Another bench!!!!!!! This bench was at a beautiful opening where you could see the tall buildings in Atlanta and the Buckhead skyline. Inhale exhale. "Let’s go!" .5miles left...my second wind kicks in ...kinda I watch the ground cuz the incline does not waver. I look up and see a railing and some steps We Made It!!!!!!!

So happy, so proud...kinda my defining moment of how 2015 is going to be for me. Just I keep going. Don't give up. Nothing is easy. If you want it do it. Do or Do not, there is no try.
