Motivated java talk...

Hey you! I'm so glad we are able to have this coffee together. I have a few things I want to share with you.

If we were having coffee together I would tell you... So this week I set a goal to limit meat consumption. I am VERY excited about it!
Why did I set this goal? No reason. Really?  No reason, I just wanted to see if I could do it.
I don’t plan on becoming a vegetarian but I would like to only eat fish and not every day.

Ok let me tell you about my weekend!
My eating this weekend was good!
Friday
Breakfast:
Sunrise Subway Melt : egg, turkey, ham, bacon, pepper jack  cheese, spinach,  peppers,  onions, and avocado.
Lunch:
Caesar salad and small chili from Wendy’s
Dinner:
1 Slice of Veggie Supreme Pizza
I snack on Wasabi almonds throughout the day.

Saturday
Breakfast: Toast with peanut butter
Lunch: Chipotle Bowl, shredded lettuce,  brown rice, black beans, peppers and onions, guacamole and medium salsa!!  Yummers!!!!
Dinner: Still full from lunch…lol…seriously
Snack: soft serve Ice cream cone from Chick-Fil-A

Sunday
Breakfast: Zero (woke at like noon)
Lunch: Turkey Burger(lettuce and tomato) w/Fries
Dinner: Taco Mac: Veggie Quesadilla (YUMMERS!)

Yesterday was a really good day!
Breakfast: Egg wrap with avocado and spinach with loads or sriracha !! it was great to me 5mins to make
Lunch: I had Fiesta potatoes and a bean burrito from Taco Bell. Those potatoes were AMAZING!!
Dinner:  I did #mealprep I was inspired by the Taco Mac and I made a pan of peppers, onion, Portobello mushrooms and black beans for D’s Veggie Quesadilla with romaine avocado tomato and salsa.
It was GREAT and shall be my lunch for the rest of the week.

I did a 4 mile walk. It was a Leslie Sansone walk and it consisted of 30min of boosted walking intervals. Boosted walking is Leslie’s version of jogging.  It was AWESOME!! 4 miles in 45 mins! Work! And I loved it!

This cup was exactly what I needed. Thank you for sharing coffee time with me. Have an amazing day!

Thank You Hump Day!

"What motivates you?"...
that's the question from the motivational Monday team link up.  I'm definitely not motivated on Monday...to do much of nothing. The link up lasts 4 days ...so I'm writing about it today.

What motivates me?
In relation to what? Life? Fitness?
 In LIFE.
My kiddies.  I only wake up in the morning because of them.  I only breathe for my kiddies.  When I was a teenager, I was a cutter and I was suicidal.  I hated life. When I entered my 20's  I other poor choices to numb the numbness.
When I became a mother ...well motherhood changed me.
I didn't want to disappoint or let them down
So that little girl and that little boy motivate me to live. Wake up, go to work, breathe,  buy $150 shoes...HA! Because of them. They suck ass but mommy loves them...They are my asses and I would have shot myself in the head a long time ago if I wasn't blessed with them.

blah...girly emotional mommy crap

In Fitness.
Mini-skirts, short shorts, going to Puerto Rico and walking around naked and look good naked.
and even though these are not on the top of the list they are just as important....better health, to live a longer.

but its just something about being able to shop in the misses dept.  To have more variety in black...lol

I have NEVER been skinny.  High school skinny for me was a size 14/16 and I was in high school when the only plus sized clothes were for old fat ladies...Golden Girls...elastic waist pants pastels and flower shirts.  ugh.

I just want to know that I can do it and see what I look like smaller.

It's Wednesday  and I love linking up with Liz @ Fitness Blondie , Hump Day Blog Hop! and Diatta @ Femme Fitale Fit Club, Workout Wednesday Linkup!

Lets go over my exercise routine that I have done this week.

Sunday : Cardio: Fail Strength: Fail
Monday: Cardio: 6.08 miles Arms: Fail
Tuesday: Cardio: 4.55 miles Legs: Fail (unless you count the walk/jog)
Today has not happened yet...sooooo

and I have yet to begin my AM exercise.  I know for certain I will begin that next week because
SCHOOL IS OUT!!!

What I am enjoying about my walking this month is that I am incorporating jogging.
Particularly, over the last 2 weeks.
So far this week I have been  jogging longer distances.  I have certain markers that I run to and from, but I have been pushing myself to go further...VERY VERY NICE!!!

I also meal prepped on Sunday.  It was the hardest and longest prep, even longer than the first time I did it...lol
However, I am happy with the results.
Egg Muffins

For Breakfast I made Egg Muffins...I LOVE these things...
Egg Beaters
Bag of Spinach
Sliced Baby Bellas
Onion
Parmesan Cheese
Reduced Fat Cheddar

For Lunch/Dinner I hooked up some Turkey Sweet Potato Muffins...They are great and don't be put off by the  sweet potato  you don't even taste it.  The muffins are very moist and flavorful...OMG they are so good.

Turkey Sweet Potato Muffins
1 pack lean Ground Turkey
1 small sweet potato cooked them mashed
Onions/bell pepper
Parmesan cheese
Spinach (a bag)
I have them with broccoli on the side.

There are enough for dinner.  AWESOME SAUCE!!

My Daily routine is really working out well. Yeah!

Ok so in other news:
Grey's Anatomy. It's my favorite show. She is my favorite character.
I knew last year that she was leaving.
I watched the season finale on Sunday.
I didn't expect the kind of melt down  that I had.
I cried hard. I cried loud.

It's the end of an era.  It would be like if one of the characters from Friends had left. Mid show.

ugh...Meredith is going to need her person when the shit hits the fan next season.

Any who
Farewell Christina

Hump Ya!...

You know how some people are obsessed with the scale...well I'm obsessed with blogs stats.  I like seeing that I have views and COMMENTS!!!!!!!
I love feedback...I makes me feel like someone out there cares about my struggle.

However, I noticed that struggle that no one really cared about. Accountability.
Couple weeks ago I post about accountability here. Got no feedback. No love.
It sucked. * shrug *

Any who
I completed my #100in6
I walked 102.18 / 100 miles and I was finished 2 days ahead of time!!!
It was awesome!!
Now I'm searching for the next challenge.
My Swag Swap partner and I are talking about coming up with a challenge we can do together.
Any suggestions?

I love challenges. Here's why.
  • They give me focus.
  • There is a schedule with deadlines.
  • There is a fully defined tasks that have an outcome.
  • There are also rewards. Not monetary (though I'm not against it).  The rewards of a good, fun challenge are points and recognition!!!!
Know of any fitness challenges I can get into?

Last night I did some strength training.  The beautiful Liz @ Fitness Blondie post a Weight Lifting 101 I thought it was great! It was also the push I needed to follow through on one of my goals this week.
It was an upper body circuit....I now understand what fatigue mean.  Its not painful or sore its just weak as hell...can hardly type kinda weak.  Good shit!

This week I wrote out my exercise plan...have I followed it ....no
It's the last full week of my class and I had a paper to write that I was soooooooooooooo behind on so I have spent my nights writing and deep breathing.
I have NOT however, been snacking or eating CRAP...proud of myself.

I didn't meal prep this week because well I'm poor so I made a cute black bean and zucchini stir-fry that I have paired with turkey patties that my kiddies refuse to cook. * shrug *

Ok so last week I was poking around FabChickGetsFit and she had a link to a clothing site she loves, ASOS.
I found this dress.  I don't buy dresses, but I was being positive AND it was a great price!
Can I say dam!!! I have KNEES!!!!!!!!! The material feels great on my body and hugs my booty just right.  LOVE it!

Ok Happy Hump Day you guys!
Hit up my favorite blog hop Hump Day Blog Hop with Liz @ Fitness Blondie and a new Link Up that I hitting up today Workout Wednesday with Diatta @ Femme Fitale Fit Club

Have an awesome day!

2 Dope Boyz in a Cadillac...

Listen, Most of my blogs are about my journey and this one will be no different, BUT I have to share how HYPE (definition: stimulate or excite) I am this morning!!!
I'm from Atlanta, well not from but I have been here 27.5 years, so, I'm a PEACH DAMMIT! HA!
When I graduated from high school 20 years ago OutKast was arriving on the scene, They are THE BEST hop hip/Rap duo ALIVE and dead, but they are still alive.
They performed and Coachella, a musical festival, kicking off their REUNION and TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!
They are Atl grown and raised.  They bring me so much joy and pride because I don't know if you all know but Rap is dead.

It sucks horribly.  I look at my kids like "Y'all like this?" O_____O, seriously, It sucks.

Anywho, I found the Coachella performance online and watched it this morning.

It was THE BEST way to start my HUMP DAAAAAY!!!

I was excited and quite emotional!!!
I was singling along like I was THERE!!
I had so much happiness in seeing them reunited and PERFORMING!!!!!!
I teared up a little.

I have decided to go home pull out my crate of CD's , pull out my OutKast CD's, from Southernplayalisticcadillacmusik to Speaker Box/Love Below (which I still have in rotation in my car) and create a new walking playlist dedicated to OutKast!!!
Hey Ya
I Like the way you move
Ghetto Musik
Aquemini
BOB
I'm soooooooo excited!!!!

I'm also sore from my 30min walk/strength workout yesterday. Which I love! Soreness is the GREATEST!

I also did a mini  #MealPrep for my dinners the rest of the week.
I love color and I love veggies so I chop them up and throw them in a skillet saute them and add shrimp!
When it's time to eat, heat and add sriracha!!! Jooooy!!!!

Glad the rain has clear however, it's winter again.  It won't last long but MAN I wanna go walk outside!
So, Outkast and I will be hopping on the dreaded treadmill and pumping it out!
I got on the treadmill and did a pretty good Walk/Run!
Proud of me!

Fab 5 Follow Through Friday...lol...

Alrighty!  I have something to share.  I don't want to call it a confession so, I will call it a realization slash admission.

Hi, I'm D and I did not meal prep this week.
I suck
I have spent bookoo money this week on bullish.  No I have been gorging on McDonald fries and whoppers or chicken wings (yack).

What I have spent my hard earn dollars on this week:
Breakfastses:
Monday or Tuesday I had a Spinach Egg Beater omelet that I made at home
Sunrise Subway Melts loaded (with spinach)
Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagel from Dunkin Donuts
oh and those devil Blueberry Donuts (ugh)

Luncheses:
Spicy Chicken Sammich yup with fries and a Caesar side salad
Veggie Lo Mein
Grilled Caesar salad Zaxbys (I only use one pack of dressing) Zaxby's

Dinners:
Shrimp Tacos
Taco Salad
Turnip greens, okra tomatoes, red beans and rice and mashed potatoes (Monday & Tuesday)

Snacks
Dark Chocolate
Peanut Butter cookie
Devil Blueberry Donuts
Total $80 with a standard deviation of $5 (say huh say what!!!!!)
I coulda mealprepped for 4 with that!

I'm sharing all this because I can get in denial.  A visual is REAL, DEEP accountability for me.  I can log in My Fitness Pal all day but if I can't find it, I won't log it. *shrug*

Meal Prep is my best friend.
What's really mucked up, I BOUGHT ALL THE STUFF TO MEAL PREP!!!
I had my menu TOGETHER!!!

Breakfast:
Egg muffins w/ spinach and low fat cheddar
Lunch:
garlic shrimp w/ Spinach, zucchini, squash and peppers
Dinner:
Baked Tilapia w/ Spinach, Zucchini, Squash and peppers
Snack: Almonds, Dark Chocolate or Peanut butter

THANK GOD I exercised!!! Praises!
I'm probably having a maintenance week that won't show up til next week...damn me.
I have definitely learned that "Failing to Prepare is Preparing to Fail and this week was a #FAIL
Meal Prep makes such a difference in my life. It kills the confusion and temptation.

I read the most beautiful, tearful inspirational post on Wednesday.  This woman had me in tears.  Find it here @ OperationSkinnyJeans . She just laid it all out on the table and I moved my heart.  I'm not a big emotional girl but she got me together. I'm entering my 2nd year of my lifestyle change and I hit a pothole, my tire busted and I in the process and fixing it so I can keep on going.  He post got me to get the tire out of the trunk. Thanks so much.

Today Starts the "Getting My Shit Together" Goal...lol

5 Things are going to happen, going forward.

1. Return to Meal Prep Mondays
I absolutely LOVE chopping up veggies and post them to Instagram on Mondays.  It was fun and gave me something to look forward to.  I also got lots of ideas from #MealPrepMonday post. So, BOOM back at it!

2. Strength Training (at home)
Last Friday or was it Friday before last... *shrug* I came up with a pretty good strength training routine that I have been putting off doing...don't know why.  I enjoy strength training...LOVE THE BURN and the way my body feels, not to mention the inches it dissolves.

3. Increase my mileage.
I'm doing a Miles Challenge and I have been doing the bare minimum.  ugh...just lazy.  Eve's Curse drains the life out of me.  It's done and now I have to get back to the 4-5miles a day. I'm love walking and I know combined with the strength training the calorie burn will be great!

4. Get my Mental Discipline in check
The mind is weak...well mine has been for a couple weeks.  I need to search my brain for the trigger that has set me back...It's more than Eve.  I have had Eve every month for the year I have been in the journey. There is something more going on in my head. (self sabotage)

5. SLEEP
I hate missing my TV shows and I'm usually in the bed 10:30 -11pm.  I'm going to have to get grandma and hit the sack at like 9:30!!!! I am sleepy! It's important and necessary.  I don't like to HAVE to drink coffee...lol

Simply put...I want it like the air I breathe.
I'm not lost, just confused. Getting that together to match the goals I have set for ME!
Have a Wonderful weekend you guys.

Check out these Link-Ups, Fitness  Friday,  Follow Through Friday and Five on Friday, they have loads of bloggers.  Did I say I LOVE Link ups.lol...

The Weekend...

Its Monday. Throw some glitter make it rain!
I'm probably the only person in the working world that likes Mondays.  I actually look forward to Mondays!

SURPRISE!!

Don't get me wrong it's hard to drag my arse out of the bed !! I likes my sleep!
Mondays for me mean more structure.
There is a schedule.
Not that my weekends are bad there's just no set time to get up and do anything.  I tend to put off my workouts instead of getting up and getting to it. I don't wake up and eat breakfast.  I sleep til noon.

Soooooooo, I love me some Mondays. Get up, drink water, eat breakfast, AM snack...etc. Structure. Order. Things I love and cherish. HA!!

Saturday I took my kiddies to a High school step show. Mostly, so my daughter could see her friendboy perform (blah)... It was a good time! Quality time with my lovies and a bag of Lays potato chips. HA!
We were there for 3.5 hours.  I ending up doing squats every intermission, mah booty was hurting.

Yesterday instead of laying in the bed watching all of season 2 of Homeland, I decided to go ahead and meal prep.  It was most enjoyable.  I wasn't in a hurry and not constrained by having to get in my workout...AWESOMENESS!!!!
Meal Prep, since I started in the beginning of January, has become easier and easier and faster.  What used to take 4 hours now takes 2!!! It's also great to NOT have to think about what I'm going to eat for lunch and dinner...no wasting time, thought, or energy on that!!
I made what I call
Veggie Quinoa (kEEn wa)w/ Shrimp
1 package Noland Roasted Garlic Quinoa
1/2 yellow bell pepper
1/2 orange bell pepper
1 zucchini
1 jalapeno
1 sereno pepper
1/2 red onion
6 baby bella mushrooms
1cup spinach
handful of cherry tomatoes
seasonings

*cook the quinoa as directed but I add a little Cayenne Pepper, I likes it spicy!
chop it all up saute in a nice pan and ENJOY!
AND THIS IS ONLY LUNCH!!!!!

This evening will be stellar.  T25 Cardio!!

I'm going to kick ass this last week of February! My how time is flying this year!

Salutations...

Welp! It has been 2weeks.  Oops.  I had my birthday and got L-A-Z-Y!  I  JACKED my goal to write 31 days straight.  It wasn’t hard however it became and chore and I don’t want this to become a chore.   So, even though I missed these last 9 or 10 days I’m going to give a recap of everything I can remember since my birthday and a wrap up of January goals.

 1/22
Thanks Brother!
Thanks Mother!
I was my birthday! I turned the big 38! I own it! I’m so thankful to be at this age and I wouldn’t go back for SH!T!! I’m beautiful and on the road to a healthier, sexier me! BOOM!  I got some AWESOME birthday gifts.  A Polar watch!!! I will now know without confusion how many calories I’m NOT burning…lol I also got T25! *stands on soapbox* I am so excited about both of these and how they will be used together to further my health goals and weigh loss victory!!

1/23
Went to work hung over. HA!
It was rough…ROUGH! …and that’s pretty much all I remember about that day.

1/24-1/27
Not much happened … I got a mani/pedi & sushi with one girl friend and had DRINKS and chips and dip with another.  Weighed in on the 26th to find I had gained .4ozs.  Bummer. L  I drank some water and went back to sleep.  HA!

Even though I was on vacation from my job I still had my good ol meal prep food…I only over did it with the drinking.  I’m not a fruity drink kinda gal but I am a vodka kinda drinking gal and BOOOOOOOOOY did I have plenty vodka.

It was also Meal Prep Monday! I am enjoying meal prepping!! I love having my food ready and available.  It has also afforded me the ability to EAT MORE VEGGIES!!  Like, I’m having 3-4 veggies per meal. It’s truly awesome.

1/28
HA! Atlanta SHUT DOWN!
Was an awesome winter weather day in Atlanta! It was walking dead around here! The snow hit so quick that the Metro Atlanta area was in shock! It was pretty and pretty bad. People abandoning their cars, People walking miles to their homes, children and teachers trapped at schools and my favorite the ignant (and yes I meant IGNANT) ass’s that were loading cars on stolen tow truck and STEALING THEM! Ugh! So after finally getting home safely with the kiddies, I worked out enjoyed my prepped meal and slept like a baby in the womb. “NO WORK OR SCHOOL TOMORROW!”, said Metro Atliens!

1/29

My front yard after the snow.
Awakened to a beautiful Winter wonderland outside and cold as the North Pole on Christmas Eve.  My son went outside, threw 1 snowball and came back.  Jack Frost nipped at his butt.   I finally put my Polar watch to some use.  I did two workouts.  AM was some Leslie and late afternoon I tried this SWEAT workout that I downloaded a couple weeks ago.  It was created by this really inspirational chick Dawn Archer.  She has a story to tell.  It’s a cute Zumba inspired workout that really makes one SWEAT! I liked it! Drip! Drip!

1/30 – 1/31
Half days of work no school and having to feed my rug rats 2 extra meals while they were out of school… I continued Exercising and eating right.  January ended. Ho hum! Even now as I write I can really remember those last couple days.  It ended good!

At the start of the new month I weighed in and revisited the goals that I wrote and shared with you guys. I accomplished more than half the goals I set out to.

What didn’t happen:

Couch to 5K  HMMM I started it a couple time in the beginning of the month but my hate for treadmills took over 99.8% of the time.  It was sooooooo boring even with the playlist and programs I downloaded. BLAH!!  So I’m going to put this off until the spring when I can go outside and enjoy nature and not get frostbite. I’m ok with my status on this goal. Grade: D- I burned a few calories with the starts…lol

Too Inspired Walking Challenge Welp I just forgot to update the group on my workouts….lol  So I completed the challenge just didn’t follow through Grade: C- on that one.

Write EVERYday. EH well sorry.  I felt really bad about this.  I want to write everyday but I want to exercise and spend time with my loved ones too.  So, going forward I’m only going to write twice a week, minimum.  I want to write everyday but I know that is unrealistic and rather than disappoint myself and all 1 of my followers, 2 or more times a week should get it done! Grade: D+ because I did make it to the last week.

That pretty much sums up January.

On the 1st I weighed in and the total pounds lost for the month of January is/were/ are (hell IDK!)  8.8lbs !!!!!  I also lost 1 inch around my waist. BOOM!  My goal was 10lbs but I am thrilled with 8.8! HELL who wouldn’t be!  I credit the meal prep and focus.  You HAVE to eat right. No if, ands or buts about it.  What you eat and when to eat is so important. Without the meal prep I would have been all over the place and that could have been +8.8lbs.  I’m happy and I’m proud. I started the year on the right track!

Yummers!...

Oh I meal prepped my ass off last night! I cook two delicious meals and It didn't take me all night!!

Early in the day is what I have read is a better time and my chosen time to eat most of my carbs. For instance,  if I choose to eat a Granny Smith Apple or a Banana, I use Breakfast or AM Snack. Lunch is where I have my carbs, if I have any at all.  Dinner  I prefer to only eat a protein and a veggie. Nothing heavy that I have to carry to be with me or on my hips.  I may have a spoon on peanut butter just to satisfy any craving that is not taken care of by drinking a big cup of water.  I believe that my snacks keep my from feeling like I'm starving to death! Lawd knows no one wants that!!

With that being said let me tell you about my prep.  I have no problem eating the same thing daily.  I got goals.  I also have had to change my relationship with food.  Its fuel...a car doesn't care if you go to Chevron or BP everyday. Food is fuel, keeps us filled with energy to walk, talk, breath and exercise. So, I have nooooooo issues with lack of variety. Boom!
However... lol...after finding these recipes I had to try them!

For lunch: Spinach & Black Bean Enchiladas
Boy when I tell you these suckers are DELICIOUS!!!! I varied the recipe and I didn't make my own sauce. I found one of this recipes on thegardengrazer.com
 My variation Recipe:
Spinach
1 can Black Beans
1cup Mushrooms
1/2cup dices onions
2 whole Jalapenos (I like things spicy!)
3 Garlic Cloves (chopped, minced, diced...whatever)
1-1/2cup Low Fat shredded cheese
1 can Enchilada Sauce
Whole wheat tortillas 130cal each

Spices I used:
Cayenne
Garlic Powder
I prepared it the same way
Sauteed the veggies
mix with beans and cheese
roll, poor sauce bake
375 degrees 30mins

Turned out beautifully and tastes DEVINE!!!

For Dinner : Turkey & Sweet Potato Muffins
OMG! I did not expect this combination to be good at all. I don't remember the blog I found it on and I definitely changed the recipe a lot! One site I saw it on was http://thegetinshapeworkoutplan.com

My variation recipe:
1lbs Ground Turkey
1 medium Sweet Potato (boiled, diced and smashed)
1cup Mushrooms
1/2 cup Onions
2 Garlic Cloves (chopped, minced, diced...whatever)
Spices:
Garlic Powder
Cayenne
Italian Seasoning

I didn't have any eggs and it didn't really matter because they can out BEAUTIFUL!! I didn't taste the potato at all.  They are extremely moist and flavorful!! I have meals for the next 7 day!! No weekend muck ups!!
I paired these dishes with Broccoli Florets and Zucchini!
I could not wait to have lunch today!!

Progress...

I rested this weekend. I did nothing. Well I do squats.  I love the 30 Day Squat Challenge.  I do it monthly.  I have heard that challenges like these are effective for building muscle. That one is only learning to lots of squats in a row and they aren't effective. WELLLLL, when I do this challenge I do sets/rep.  50 squats I do 5 sets of 10, 100 squats I do 4 sets of 25 or 10 sets of 10. It just really depends on how I feel. I break a good sweat, my thighs and bum are extremely sore and I wish I had before and after pictures.  I already a and ba donk ka donk ! Now its donkier...lol!!  nothing could make me stray.HA!

My birthday is this week. I'm looking forward to it.  Well I love birthdays.  Its the only day that just about you. It's a celebration of YOU!  Needless to say I'm excited and no matter my age I will still love it love it...it wasn't just any other day when my mom was in labor so why should I treat it that way!

In other news: Yesterday was WEIGH-IN DAY!!!!
To review.  Last week I planned my menu and I meal prepped for the week. Fantastic! It the one thing I didn't have to think about nor was it going to be an excuse as to why I didn't get my GOOD workout in OR spend  Meal prep was a success! Grab pop in microwave and eat.  I didn't have a reason to not workout. It was also easy to make sure I got in 4 or 5 servings of veggies a day...NO EXCUSES!!!
So to the big news....  I woke up, emptied my bladder, washed my hands and got naked.
I lost 4.8lbs!!
This makes me happy! Glad to see that the work I'm putting in is producing results! BOOM! I don't expect this to happen weekly, no, no, no. I don't ever expect it but when it happens WOOSH!!

Werk...

My! My! My!
Last night's workout was awesome!

Today's Truths
1. I'm sleepy
2. I have been researching meal prep
3. I'm falling for Shaun T. HA!

For Christmas I got a bit of fitness related things and T25 Core Speed was one. I tried Insanity once, for 3mins then I just sat and watch it. Engaged like it was Lord of the Rings.  It's "Focus" is the core but it was intense! Definitly lots of cardio! There was jumping and zigzagging and burpees and thrusting!! WHEW!!! I was dripping sweat and ready to give up after 5 mins! :) I kept going though.  My heart rate was up, the sweat didn't stop and at the end I was in love.  I'm going to do that again tonight.  After that I walked 2 miles with Leslie Sansome.
Total workout time: 50mins
I need to get the complete system and try it.  I will however, be adding this to my daily.  I really enjoyed it.

Short and sweet today.

Just D...

Just D. #nofilter
I have to start writing during the day.  The late blogging is keeping me from my precious, important ZZzzz's

Today's Truths
1. My lunch was awesome,  Not heavy and just about 400 calories.
2. Yes I'm a calorie counter. Ha!
3. I want to inspire and be loved.

I don't want to teach classes or lead fitness challenges (I mean if it happens I'll except it), that's not my goal. my blog probably won't be all fancy and colorful.  I just want to be an example. I just want to share my experience. I just want to vent. If in this process 1 person likes it, loves it, learns something from it and/or is inspired, then this is a success.

I have been a loner all my life.  Few friends, limited family.  I'm a nerd that didn't even had other nerds to play with.  I didn't start my journey with inspiring in mind.  I got motivated by a few people on IG.  I used to enjoy the #transformationtuesdays, for a little while.  What I was beginning to notice was that my timeline was full of people that had already reached their fitness goals or want money.  Not many REAL people out there ( that i could find...yet) going thru what I am going thru the pain, the muck ups, THE STRUGGLE! Don't get me wrong there are a COUPLE and I mean a couple that I love and follow and get inspired!
I started feeling like, if I'm urning to see real people go thru this, someone else must be too...In comes D ( that's me...btw)!!

 A lil about me...
I started this blog, it looks like, in 2008 when I was on a different weight loss journey.  I wasn't doing it for the right reason.  I was in a SEXLESS relationship and I used sex as motivation to keep me going.  Specifically, sex with a certain person. HA! I quickly got over that and fell off that journey. Moving on...
I consider myself a writer.  I have had an essay or 2 published. I have written some articles for a small, alternative publication.  I also write poetry and I have been working on a fiction piece for YEARS (writers block, fear, excuses).  I have another blog that I write. So yeh I write...lol
I started this journey last March.  I was reading an IG post by one of my personality's on my favorite radio show, The Bert Show. -->
Thanks Jeff Dauler!
It sparked something in me. I wrote it down and posted it on my cube.  I wrote down some things I wanted Improve.  My health was in big bold print, underlined with asterisks.  I went home went through old fitness journals and actually sat and thought "Am I ready or will I be quitting AGAIN!"  I deciding I was ready.  I have been full figured ALLLLLLL my life.  I was wearing a training bra in kindergarten. I don't have "high school skinny" dreams.   I just want to be healthy, fit and look good naked.
I'm a mother of 2, a middle child, an aunt, a daughter an employee and a coworker. I'm a believer in God, but not an avid church goer.  I have my own personal relationship with God. Judge not. I'm blessed.

If you have read this far. Thank you, sincerely.  If you enjoyed, come back, I have loads of things to say. Invite your friends. Comment, I'll respond.
I won't and don't pretend to be a fitness expert.  I only know whats works for me and I have read a lot about fitness, food, and exercise.

Couple Things...

So I weighed in yesterday.  Before I go on let me say this.  I like the scale. I like the measuring tape. I use both. I like both.  I know that when there is a stall on the scale to watch the tape I start every session with fresh numbers, how else will you know how you have progressed, should the scale say "hold it!".  I weigh weekly and I only use the measuring tape monthly or weekly, after a plateau hits.
So I weighed in yesterday! Very happy with the results!! I lost 1.4lbs!!! This is great!!! I'm not on the Biggest Loser, I don't expect big numbers. I don't always expect a loss at all and after falling of the horse during the holidays, I 'm so happy top hop back on and have a loss.

What that means for me. Well, for 1 I'm doing something right.  My body is liking the exercise and the food I'm giving it, so, I can slowly take my calories down and and continue my work outs, maybe even amp up the intensity.  This, too, doesn't hurt the self confidence. It's not about a new years resolution for me...I'm simply picking up where I left off.  I'm proud of me.  So many time's do people, I included, fall off and just head straight back to those old habits. Chipotle every day, Reece's Cups, Coca Cola, WHOPPER with cheese cut in half extra pickles...ok I'm drooling, BUT I don't miss that crap.  I feel better, I look better and I move better.  Hell MY KNEES feel better!!  What else this means is I'M KICKING ASS!! I know its just a week but it was a hard week full of mental challenges.  I didn't want to do it.  I wanted to just sleep. However, mental discipline and wanting it more that I want air. Boom!

My Groceries!
One goal that had for January was Meal Prep.  I did it! I went to the Farmers Market and loaded my buggy up with goodies! Lots of fresh veggies, meats and some fresh spices and some bottled spices.  I shopped for 4 people, that's lunch and dinner for me and dinner for them for 7 days.  I was AMAZED that my bill was $47!!! for 7days!!

In closing (lol)...I'm excited about my current progress.  Its encouraging and make my drive even stronger.  My momentum is up!  I am happy.  The meal prep for this week was a success. Tiring, but I got er done! I will update at the end of the week on the ups and downs of the meals, the focus of the prepping and will I prep again...lol

Last night I slept PHENOMENAL!! Not tossing and turning and I didn't even have to get up and pee. Just great slumber! I woke up feeling great a lil sore from the work out, but great!
My Friday could not have begun a better way.  My usual hustle and bustle went smooth. Even the kiddies were up dressed and ready to head out the door EARLY!!

I found a great blog today. Its full of veggie recipes that I would like, could make and enjoy! The recipes were simple. I excited about trying a couple tomorrow.  Its  thegardengrazer.com... good ish!

Have a great weekend!

Random Babble...

Today’s post will consist of several different paragraphs with a bunch of different topics. It's how I’m feeling today. All over the place

The Kiddies

1. I'm glad I worked out yesterday morning. I procrastinated and procrastinated with doing my daughters hair. Praying school would get cancelled for just one more day. NOPE! She is 15 with natural hair, she likes it bone straight and she has ZERO clue how to even hold a flat iron (my fault, I know). However, it’s always an enjoyable 3-4 hours we watch some good TV and talk and laugh…it’s also a good time to have the abstinence convo for the 1000th time. HA! It’s WORK! Not to mention trying to motivate the 12year old boy to finish a project that we forgot about. (Winter BREAK Project…WTF? It’s a break!!!) Even more work explaining and REexplaining instructions. It became frustrating. We got through it. By midnight we wrapped up and headed in our different directions.  Sleep was no bueno. Ugh…it took me a while to wind down, my shoulders were tense and I lay there for a while thinking “go to sleep you are getting your fat ass up in the morning and working out!” LOL!

Don't know if it burns 100 but I pant
At 12:53am I was still up. Alarm went off at 5:20am I DID NOT GET UP! I felt guilty, but I know my workout would have been half assed. I rolled out of the bed at 6:25 this morning pulled the kiddies out their beds, went back to my room strapped the boobies down (seriously I wrapped a waist slimmer around them so they would not bounce, long story) and proceeded to get in a short HIIT workout, lots of jumping jacks, increased heart rate and a mild sweat. BOOM!!

2. Confession: meal prep this week has been nonexistent. For two reasons, 1. I don’t know what to cook and 2. I’m broke…lol I live paycheck to paycheck and with the kiddies being out of school for those 2 weeks I had to provide lunch and 2 snacks on top of breakfast and dinner. Hits the pockets… I haven’t been eating crappy just not planned. Today I am going to write out my menu for next week and Friday grocery shop and Sunday COOK! The house is eating what I eat because that cooking two different meals crap IS FOR THE BIRDS!! I am going to do some research and come up with some meals that both the kids and I will enjoy. Go TEAM! HA!

3. I'm excited about writing again. It makes me feel so smart…lol I start out not knowing what to say and then look up and I have paragraphs. I zone out and get in my zone! I love it so much. How can I make this a PT to FT job? Must explore that. However, I have found that depending on what’s going on in my life I have no material AND writers block hits me like a ton of bricks and lasts for a loooooooong time. I will not let that happen to me again. I love writing. I just have to make time for it like I make time to work out.

Rose gets more interesting this season

4. Downton Abbey & Pretty Little Liars are baaaaaaaaack!!!!! This is what makes winter more enjoyable…Bundled up on the couch, you’re so engaged that by the time you look up IT’S SPRING! The Downton premier was a whopping 116mins of juicy goodness. So many plots that I am going to have to watch it a 2ndtime to make sure I didn’t miss anything! The Liars usually take a few episodes to build up, but after the Halloween episode that ended the season for Fall/Winter break, I'm glad they came back POURING the information. Man I loathe Ezra, but his HAIR tho! His hair all McDreamy Dempsey like...sheesh!
